Yugo Private Aviation goes for growth amid flights restrictions in Asia
Singapore, 15.07.2021: Yugo, one of the fast-growing private aviation companies in Asia, has managed to achieve three-digit year-on-year growth as of mid-year, despite the various travel restrictions in Asia Pacific since March 2020 and the start of the pandemic. Operating across Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines, Yugo continues to expand within Asia.
Jim Baldy, CEO of Yugo said: “Covid-19 has reshaped the travel industry since 2020. This is the most challenging chapter of aviation in history and it has tested our resilience. We had to adjust our structure to serve our customers in the safest way possible. With all the issues we faced, we had to find ways to survive through 2020 and 2021.”
Leveraging its network and fleet of business jets and helicopters, Yugo is the first air mobility company that connects Southeast Asia to the whole of Asia Pacific.
Yugo’s customers now have access to a fleet of more than 70 aircraft, from the industry’s best OEMs such as Challenger 350, Gulfstream G650ER, Cessna Citation CJ4, or Dassault Falcon 7X for private jets as well as Bell 505 and 429, Airbus H130 and H145, Leonardo AW109 and AW139, Sikorski S76, Robinson R44 and R66 for helicopters.
The jets and helicopters are selected to offer charter flights to over 200 destinations in Asia, of Asian passengers from Koh Samui to Palawan, Sihanoukville to Tianjin, Chiang Mai to Langkawi, or from Manila to Sydney.
To achieve its growth, Yugo's engineers and dispatchers have been working hard on the reliability of its sanitary processes to be compliant with the various health protocols in force as well as hiring veterans aviation professionals for its ground operations team.
Within Asia Pacific, and Southeast Asia, Yugo’s popular flights included airport transfers, private island transfers, cross-border medical flights, in country emergency evacuations, cross-border private jets flights.
Nevertheless, while commercial aviation has not started to pick up, private aviation has also been slow to recover, due to strict quarantines in place in Asia.
According to Camille Ngo, commercial manager of Yugo: “Our mission of providing the possibility for our customers to fly private anywhere, anytime, by helicopters or jets, has been extremely difficult due to the health and sanitary crisis.”
Ngo adds: “We are working with the industry towards a more sustainable approach to improve aviation as a whole, taking into account our environmental and societal responsibility. We have been helping our customers in their fights to sustain their businesses, and this has led us to grow despite all the obstacles and challenges posed by the pandemic.”
