OUR RULE OF THREE: PEOPLE, PASSION, PLANES
WE LAUNCHED Corporate Jet Investor Quarterly at the start of this year vowing to focus on three things – people, passion and planes. We hope you agree that this issue has lots of all three.
This issue’s cover story, the first in-depth interview with Ron Draper the CEO of Textron Aviation, links all these things. Draper wants all of Textron Aviation’s people to rediscover their passion with the business – whilst building and selling great planes. Draper, a West Point Military Academy graduate and former Army Helicopter pilot, wants his legacy to be changing the culture at the company that has built half of the world’s business aircraft fleet.
Our last issue included the CJI Dealmakers International 30 so it is no surprise that we are following up with the CJI Dealmakers for the Americas. With the US accounting for 70% of all transactions, researching this list has been hard work for our editorial team but we hope you enjoy it. Please let me know who you think has been left out. This is an exciting year for new planes. Our feature on Gulfstream’s G600 shows how the Savannah manufacturer is evolving its aircraft. We also look at how avionics are evolving.
We are now coming into one of the busiest quarters of the year – and one with lots of key events including NBAA and CJI Miami. As the year end fast approaches may I be the first to give you best wishes for a prosperous, happy and healthy 2020.
