SEEKING THE SWEET SPOT FOR BUSINESS AVIATION
When Victor, the charter broker, offered Corporate Jet Investor the chance to visit Nestlé there were a lot of people arguing that they should go. After all who doesn’t want to see where KitKat chocolate bars and Nesquik milkshakes are made. Or pick up some Nespresso pods/meet George Clooney.
More excitingly, it was an invitation to visit Neste, the world’s largest producer of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), in Rotterdam. Alasdair returned from the trip really excited about what he had learnt, and you can feel this enthusiasm in his feature.
SAF is critical to the future of aviation. There is no way that the industry can be carbon neutral without SAF by 2050. We have recently launched SAF Investor; a new publication to focus on this market.
Mike Stones was perhaps even more excited about his visit to Cirrus Aircraft in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mike, who is passionate about flying 60-year-old Super Cubs as a hobby, loved getting in the cockpit of the Cirrus Vison Jet featured on the cover. He was also excited to hear how Verijet is trying to bring so many people into business aviation.
We also look at the Dwyer family behind Guardian Jet and why we may soon be selling jets in the Metaverse. Our regular Day in Life piece is with David Crick, the Aussie Aircraft Appraiser and past-president of the American Society of Appraisers.
We loved seeing so many people at NBAA-BACE, CJI Dubai and CJI Miami in the last quarter of 2022 and are excited about all our events in 2023.
As the SAF feature says, Neste takes safety seriously. Which apparently is something that not all chocolate factories do. We are sure, Nestlé is very safe but when one large confectionary company famously opened its doors to five children and their parents, just one made it out without incident.
